Newcastle quayside development approved

Newcastle quayside scheme approved.

Plans for a mixed-use development on Newcastle's quayside have been granted planning permission following a public inquiry.

The Ouseburn Gateway will be located on the River Tyne at the mouth of the river Ouseburn.

It includes a 13-storey residential tower and a four-storey office building as well as retail and leisure space.

Ouseburn Gateway is being developed by George Wimpey and was designed by architect Sir Terry Farrell.

"The Tyne Gorge, with its unique topography, creates a dramatic spatial experience with spectacular views up and down stream," Sir Terry told Property Week.

"I hope the development will also act as a catalyst for future growth to the lands adjacent to Spillers Mill and onwards to the Ouseburn Valley."

George Wimpey is a dedicated house building company with 125 years of experience.

It has 26 regional businesses and three satellites in the UK.ADNFCR-1203-ID-18668996-ADNFCR
