Legal challenge on Wolves development dropped

Work could start on the £300 million Summer Row scheme in Wolverhampton early next year after a legal challenge against the development was dropped.
Leaseholder of nearby Wulfrun Shopping Centre London and Cambridge Properties had submitted an objection to the High Court, but it has now been withdrawn.
Multi Development plans 600,000 square feet of retail, leisure and residential space at the site, with department store Debenhams already confirmed as a tenant.
Councillor Peter Bilson, who sits on the steering group for the centre, said there are a number of practical issues to deal with following the public inquiry.
"We are looking to relocate those who are affected by the compulsory purchase order and we are looking for another anchor tenant," he told the Express and Star.
Summer Row is expected to open in 2011 and will feature 85 shops, anchored with bars, restaurants and a ten-screen cinema, 760 parking spaces and 150 flats.
The eight acre site is situated at the southern edge of the city centre, bordered by Cleveland Street, Snow Hill, Temple Street and Worcester Street.
