"Beginning of a new era" for sustainable development in Glasgow

A sustainable office development has been approved by Glasgow city council, in what the developer hails "the beginning of a new era".

The 250,000 square feet grade A building in St Vincent Street heralds the creation of a major landmark building at the primary gateway to the city's international financial district, Castlemore Securities says.

The £130 million development features 12 storeys, roof terraces and gardens, coffee shop and 200 basement car parking spaces.

Catslemore says it has a specification that embraces sustainability and sets new standards for environmentally considered designs.

Nigel Crump, spokesman for Castlemore, comments: "Our intention is not only to produce a very striking building that fits occupiers' needs, but one that will also set a new benchmark for energy efficient design, which is a goal that we have strived to achieve."

The developer currently has a programme of schemes under construction or with planning permission in place, of more than £1 billion throughout the UK.

It has produced environmentally sound headquarter office schemes for HM Customs and Excise, British Telecom and Hutchinson 3G.ADNFCR-1203-ID-18654478-ADNFCR
