Architecture firm seeks regeneration sites

Architecture firm _space architecture is seeking out regeneration sites across the UK in which to set up offices as part of a five-year expansion plan.
It hopes to achieve national coverage by 2012, adding to its Newcastle headquarters and a Yorkshire and Humberside centre based in Leeds.
The 15-strong practice is looking for sites in the north-west, the midlands and the south-east.
It has identified several brownfield sites near Salford, where it hopes to establish a team by the end of summer to work on projects including education schemes.
Chief executive Rob Charlton said: "Our social responsibility is central to our business ethos and we want our success to enable sustainable communities wherever we operate.
"To achieve this we employ local talent and invest both financially and with our time around us."
He added that the company is "excited" about its UK growth and is looking for "interesting" buildings to develop with an ethical footprint.
The firm was founded as Waring and Netts in 1957 and re-launched in January this year as _space.
Last year it used its own expertise to revitalise a dated 1990s building into an environment where staff enjoy games zones and lunchtime fitness classes.
