Work begins on Croydon development

Work has begun on a GE-funded commercial property development in Croydon this week.
Teesland iDG is developing the io Centre and io Trade Centre at the Paynes Poppett site on Croydon Road, which is due to for completion in November this year, reports the PropertyMail.
Colliers CRE, Centro and King Sturge have been appointed by Teesland iDG as the joint estate agents for the development.
King Sturge's employee Tim Clement said: "This is a very exciting development for Croydon with the units having a prominent location close to the busy A23 and we have had a great deal of interest from various national and local occupiers."
He added that despite the early stage of the development, the firm has already received interest about the new facilities.
A total of 22 new industrial units will feature in the new io Centre, while the adjacently-located Trade Centre will offer seven trade counter units.
Commerical property developer Teesland iDG was founded in 1996 and has since created more than 2.5 million-square feet of warehouse space in the UK.
