Wigan commercial development promises 'first-class' facilities

New commercial property in Wigan

A new commercial development in Wigan promises first-class facilities for businesses moving in.

Almost 60,000 square foot of office space has been created by the redevelopment of Trencherfield Mill, which lies on the Leeds to Liverpool canal, Manchester.com reports.

Developer Stewart Milne believes that it will attract private investors looking to move into commercial property in Manchester.

Managing director Malcolm Deans said: "Wigan's economy no longer relies on the traditional industries of the past and this vibrant town is developing a heartbeat of forward-thinking businesses.

"The commercial units at Trencherfield Mill are designed to a high specification to suit tenants looking for first-class facilities for their employees."

Separately, plans for a multi-million pound science park called SPark in Bristol have been given the go-ahead by the city council.

Lorelei Hunt of the South West of England Regional Development Agency told Property Week: "Our remit is to support a sustainable economy in the region, and SPark will play a major role in achieving this by attracting new businesses to the area."
