Walsall copper works set to undergo redevelopment

Copper works set for major changes

Walsall's copper works site is set to be redeveloped by Advantage West Midlands.

The development agency is planning an 875,000 square foot business park in its place primarily for use by industrial and logistics specialists.

Advantage recently completed the purchase of the 28 acre site from owners IMI and hope to begin the redevelopment project, which could take up to two years, as soon as possible.

Stuart Kirkwood, director of development with the agency, revealed the placement of the site was fundamental for it to facilitate growth in the region.

"The agency has a key priority to create a world-class infrastructure for economic growth. [The site's] central location and positioning either side of the M6 place it at the heart of the national motorway network."

Meanwhile, Menta's £500 million Croydon redevelopment scheme has been modified following detailed consultation with local residents.

The property company now intends to formally submit its planning application in the summer.ADNFCR-1203-ID-18499242-ADNFCR
