Tallest building in Wales given go-ahead

Planning permission for a residential tower that will become the tallest construction in Wales has been approved by Cardiff Council.
The 33-storey building is to be built by City Loft Developments and will be 400 ft high. It is going to be part of the Bay Pointe waterfront redevelopment, a £500 million scheme located in Cardiffs International Sports Village.
It will feature 491 apartments and communal gardens, while also being eco-friendly as it will have wind turbines sit on the roof, Property Week reports.
Developers are hoping that the area will soon become much more attractive as a result of community spaces, eateries and open public spaces.
Bay Pointe is owned by City Loft Developments and the architectural company working on the scheme is Conran & Partners.
Tim Bowder-Ridger, a director at Conran & Partners, commented: "These are new landmark buildings for the city of Cardiff standing directly opposite the Welsh Assembly across the Bay."
