Sheffield regeneration plans set to be discussed

Plans for the future of regeneration in Sheffield are set to be discussed by the city's council this Wednesday (February 25th).
Sheffield City Council will review and, if necessary update, the existing proposals from the 2000 City Centre Master Plan, aimed at creating a number of schemes to upgrade the region, the Press Association reports.
Tim Rippon, cabinet minister for economic regeneration, culture and planning with the council, revealed that any suitable proposals would be subject to bids from private organisations.
He told the agency: "The Masterplan has undergone extensive consultation and proposes a new programme of projects that will continue the city's social, economic and environmental transformation.
"The projects will form the basis of funding bids to external agencies to help make the vision a reality."
He added: "As with the earlier Masterplan, this will shape the city's regeneration for the next ten to 15 years."
