Property opportunities to arise in Hackney?

A range of commercial and residential property could be built in London in the near future, it has been revealed.
Hackney and Tower Hamlets Council and the Mayor of London have produced draft planning guidance on the future of the disused 4.7-hectare Bishopsgate Goods Yard.
The plans, which suggest the construction of offices, shops, restaurants and affordable housing on the site, have been put to a six-week consultation.
Councillor Guy Nicholson, Hackney Council's cabinet member for regeneration and the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, said the site "offers a great opportunity to develop a large disused area".
"Any new development must contribute to the surrounding area and we want to hear from local residents and businesses on what they want to see here," he added.
Last week, it was announced that Manchester City Council is no longer planning to buy the Great Northern Warehouse.
The local authority had been in talks with Capital & Regional over acquiring the commercial property asset, but the plans fell through after the council failed to reach an agreement with an occupier.
