Permission granted for Oxford hotel

Plans to revamp the Heythrop Park Hotel in Oxford have been given the go-ahead.
The Fikora Group have been granted permission by West Oxfordshire Council to extend its luxury hotel to include a new wing.
The architects of the scheme, AukettFitzroyRobinson, will create a new section of the facility, which will see the Brassy Wing of the hotel demolished, Property Week reports.
The designers were chosen to complete the redevelopment after they won a competition showcasing their visions for the future of the hotel.
Meanwhile, a new Holiday Inn may be built at the Newburn Riverside business park in Newcastle.
If given permission by Newcastle City Council, Holiday Inn will complete the build of 155 room facility by the end of 2010.
Hailing the plans, Neil Graham, head of regeneration at OneNorthEast, the company which owns the site, said: "This high quality scheme will contribute significantly to the future development of Newburn Riverside."
