Hammerson confirms London commercial property letting

Hammerson has agreed a letting deal in the City of London

Commercial property developer Hammerson has revealed it has achieved its first letting at a new office building in the City of London.

Lloyd's underwriter Talbot has signed a 15-year lease to take almost 4,000 square metres of space on the seventh and eighth floors of 60 Threadneedle Street.

Completed in January, the site features nine storeys of space and is part of the site previously used by the London Stock Exchange.
Martin Jepson, managing director of Hammerson's London arm, said the site was "one of the best locations in the City of London".

He added: "This, combined with the high quality of the building, attracted Talbot to move from its traditional EC3 insurance postcode to the financial core of the City."

Earlier this month, Hammerson confirmed the sale of a 75 per cent stake in Bishops Square, Spitalfields in London.
