Commercial property proposed for Croydon

Menta is behind plans for the new £500 million development

A range of commercial properties could be built in Croydon if new proposals are given the go-ahead, it has been announced.

Menta has submitted plans, designed by Ken Shuttleworth's architecture firm Make, to build a new £500 million mixed-use development in the Cherry Orchard Road area of the London borough.

Under the scheme, around 500,000 square feet of office space will be made available, along with retail space, a public square and a range of housing.

It is believed that Menta has secured some funding from the Royal Bank of Scotland for the scheme, while it is hoped consent for the work will be received at the start of next year.

Last week, it was announced that a £200 million project to transform the Stephenson Quarter of Newcastle has been given the green light by authorities.

Plans for the area include offices, flats and shops.ADNFCR-1203-ID-18880890-ADNFCR
