Burnham regeneration designs approved

Burnham designs approved

Detailed designs for the regeneration of Burnham-On-Sea have been approved by the local district council.

The plans, which involve an overhaul for the current town centre, will now go on display for public consultation from March 6th to March 8th, Burnham-On-Sea.com reports.

Alex Turco, chairman of Burnham's Chamber of Trade, revealed his hopes that the ambitious designs would receive public approval.

"It will be interesting to see whether the town's residents and business community feel the future of the town is best served by these proposals when they go on show in March," he told the site.

The plans are the work of Burnham-On-Sea Civic Pride, a partnership of a number of local groups, with the scheme partially funded by the South West Regional Development Agency.

Meanwhile, Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council has chosen Terrace Hill as the preferred developer for a new business park in the town.

The site will provide 270,000 feet of commercial property space.ADNFCR-1203-ID-18476903-ADNFCR
