Bedford enjoys lively commercial property market in 2007

Commercial property in Bedford has enjoyed a good 2007

Bedford has enjoyed a successful 2007 in the commercial property sector with the new year set to continue the trend, property experts have claimed.

According to property company Douglas Duff, regional business real estate has been strong, with a relatively high level of demand keeping rental rates in the area steady, Property Mall reports.

Matthew Brandon, of the firm, revealed that there has been heightened interest in the area, with the next 12 months poised for a raft of new commercial property opportunities.

He told the publication: "Throughout the year, we have had a high level of inquiries for well-positioned units in Bedford, especially those in good secondary locations in the town centre.

"In the New Year, we are likely to see even more activity as a number of premises in primary town centre locations are expected to come to the market," he added.

Meanwhile, plans for a £86 million redevelopment of an area of central Bristol, close to Temple Meads railway station, have been shelved as the city council claimed they were too expensive.ADNFCR-1203-ID-18396208-ADNFCR
