Bears upbeat on commercial property

Investment still worthwhile

A number of investors are poised to make significant investment in the commercial property market - even if it suffers a slight downturn.

According to experts from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the sector could suffer a slight dip in the coming year with commercial property prices dropping by up to five per cent.

But some are taking a 'bearish' view of the property market and will attempt to pounce if the markets suffers a downturn, the Financial Times reports.

Commenting on the possible market downturn and the potential to invest in a slightly less buoyant market, Jason Britton, co-fund manager at T Bailey, a fund of funds investment firm, said: "The real question is when all the bad news has been priced in [to the sector] and when to get back in."

Meanwhile, Chris Jordan, an adviser with Heron House Financial Management, claimed that he expected the blip in the sector to be minimal.

He told This Is Money: "There should be no reason to panic."ADNFCR-1203-ID-18337904-ADNFCR
