Asset management firm 'to launch commercial property funds'

An asset management firm is set to launch a range of commercial property funds, according to reports.
It is thought that F&C's real estate specialist arm is planning to open the products, which highlights that there may still be some investment opportunities in the sector despite the current financial climate.
According to Citywire, three funds will be launched, with one of them set to focus on property in the UK.
The other two are expected to focus on European commercial property and Indian interests, with the latter set to be managed by a team based in Mumbai.
It is believed the funds will initially target institutional clients.
Rumours of the plans have come after Guy Parkes, head of the western corridor office of Jones Lang LaSalle, has said the "key question" for many people in the sector is whether they should "sell now or wait" on investments.
