£50m eco-business park to be developed in Newcastle-under-Lyme

The project will cover 31 acres of land

A new £50 million eco-business park is to be built by a regional development agency (RDA) in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

The new development will be called Blue Planet Chatterley Valley and it will be constructed by Gazeley UK, Advantage West Midlands has revealed.

It will be built on 31 acres of former colliery at Lowlands Road and it will be a 'carbon positive' development.

A number of features will enable it to be one of the greenest business parks in the UK, including a bio-fuel micro power station which, will run on rapeseed oil, designed to provide enough heat and power for all the buildings as well as enough energy to power 650 homes in the local area.

John Edwards, chief executive at Advantage West Midlands, commented: "Advantage West Midlands continues to forge a powerful relationship between the public and private commercial property sector and Chatterley Valley … will play a powerful role in years to come to pinpoint the region as second to none for people to invest, work, learn, visit and live."

The project will also feature "thermally efficient buildings" and "the latest solar cell technology".ADNFCR-1203-ID-18360633-ADNFCR
