'£25 million development set to be approved'

Plans for a £25 million development in central Birkenhead are expected to be approved by council members this month.
The project would see a casino, 120 bed hotel, restaurant and office blocks built close to Conway Park Station in the town centre, reports the Liverpool Daily Post.
Larry Embra, the owner of Birkenhead Market, told the news provider he bought Europa Plaza, the company behind the project, "to make sure this goes through" as a similar scheme failed to get off the ground four years ago.
Proposals have been submitted to the council on three planning applications which have all been recommended for approval, the news provider reports.
Mr Embra said that initial work on the scheme has already started with part of the office development being used by a local company hoping to expand.
"There are also four operators looking into the hotel, which would be three or four star and include a large conference centre," he added.
News of the project comes as Liverpool city council and investment-led regeneration specialist Inpartnership announced they are build thousands of new homes in the city as part of a regeneration scheme to provide more affordable housing.
